Pennsylvania Department of Insurance, In addition to the above violations Nationwide Insurance Company refuses to accept responsibility for segments of repair process. For example: As part of these comprehensive loss repairs the front windshield and rear glass will need to be removed for the roof panel to be replaced. Nationwide refuses to accept the cost of a replacement glass if in fact it breaks during the removal or installation process. Industry Fact: It is impossible for a collision repair professional to guarantee damage free glass removal. On occasion glass breakage occurs during the repair / removal procedure. Nationwide Insurance Company has taken the stance that it is the repairer's responsibility to absorb the cost of accidental glass breakage which in our opinion should be considered part of the claim. Industry Fact: Professional glass installers will not accept the responsibility of accidental glass breakage.
