APPRAISER SPECIFIED REPAIRS USING JUNKYARD PARTS AND ALSO SPECIFYING AN AFTERMARKET STRIPE ON THE VEHICLE WHICH CLEARLY HAS OEM TAPE STRIPES . PARTS WERE ORDERED FROM AL`S AUTO PARTS AS PER LIBERTY MUTUAL ESTIMATE. PARTS ARRIVED AT SHOP CLEARLY DAMAGED AND SOME BEING UNUSABLE NOTABLY THE GRILL WHICH WAS NEARLY BROKEN IN HALF AND NOT ACCEPTED NOR PAID FOR AT TIME OF DELIVERY. THE LEFT FRONT FENDER (USED) HAS DAMAGE AROUND THE FRONT ATTACHING POINT OR BOLT THAT APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN RIPPED OFF THE DONOR VEHICLE . NO TIME WAS ALLOWED FOR LKQ CLEAN UP OR PREP. NOTABLY , USED PARTS DO NOT COME FROM A JUNKYARD IN PERFECT CONDITION. WITHOUT CONCERN FOR THE INJURED PARTY, THE APPRAISERS ONLY GOAL WAS TO FIND USED PARTS FOR THE VEHICLE AND NOTHING ELSE. THE PARTS WERE LOCATED AT A SALVAGE YARD QUITE A DISTANCE FROM THE REPAIR SHOP(OVER 40 MILES) WHICH SHOULD BE A CONCERN WHEN PARTS ARE NOT USABLE OR INCORRECT AT TIME OF DELIVERY. WHY WOULD PARTS COME FROM SUCH A GREAT DISTANCE WHEN THERE ARE NUMEROUS YARDS WITHIN A FEW MILES OF THE REPAIR SHOPS LOCATION. ON CONTACTING THE SUPPLEMENT PHONE NUMBER, THE ORIGINAL APPRAISER CALLED THE SHOP AND INFORMED ME THAT I SHOULD HAVE PAID FOR THE BROKEN GRILLE AND ALLOWED HIM TO INSPECT THE USED PART AND THAT HE WOULD DETERMINE IF IT WAS ACCEPTABLE. I THEN INFORMED HIM THAT THESE PARTS SHOULD BE IN USABLE CONDITION AT THE TIME OF DELIVERY AND HE HAD EVERY OPPORTUNITY TO INSPECT THEM AT AL`S AUTO PARTS BEFORE DESIGNATING THESE PARTS FOR USE. HIS RESPONSE WAS QUOTE " YOU DON`T KNOW HOW IT WORKS IN THIS BUSINESS". NO ARRANGEMENTS WERE MADE BY THE APPRAISER TO COME OUT AND INSPECT THE DAMAGED PARTS OR THE VEHICLE AGAIN. I AT THAT POINT SIMPLY REQUESTED HIS SUPERVISOR`S NAME AND PHONE NUMBER AND LEFT A MESSAGE AT LIBERTY MUTUAL FOR HIM TO DISCUSS THE MATTER WITH ME. I HAD ALSO SPOKE WITH THE OWNER OF THE VEHICLE WHO IS ALSO CALLING LIBERTY MUTUAL TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THE SITUATION. REPAIRS ARE AT A STANDSTILL AND THE CUSTOMER IS IN A RENTAL VEHICLE DUE TO THE DAMAGES TO THE VEHICLE AND THE DELAY IN THE REPAIR PROCESS.'
