Complaint Comments:
TO: DEPARTMENT OF INSURANCE, This appraisal was originally assigned and prepared by Tony Marsalo #197800 who appraised and reached and agreed upon method to repair damage to consumer's vehicle. Mr.Marsalo visited our facility on three separate occasions to evaluate the damage to said vehcle. When a fourth supplemental was requested Natiowide Insurance sent out their re-inspection team headed by Scott Fritz - Supervisor and Kris Kapusto Staff Appraiser. A new appraisal was prepared by these individuals who instructed our facility to alter the method of repairing this vehicle (already in process). It was their opinion the windshield pillar is to be repaired rather than the originally agreed upon procedure of replacing the structural panel. When we asked the Nationwide representatives what are we suppose to do with the OEM structural part (windshield pillar) we have purchased to repair this vehicle they advised us to charge the customer, absorb it or send it back as they really did not care. Attached please find the original appraisals by Tony Marsalo and the most recent appraisal by Kris Kapusta. In addition, to the above complaint Kris Kapusta was not permitted to make an independent appraisal because his supervisor was present and guided Kapusta's opinion as to how this appraisal should be written which is another violation of the Appraiser's Act. Capping of materials and labor procedures are also present on this appraisal. Please investigate this complaint as the manner in which Nationwide is handling this claim is prolonging the repair and delivery of our consumer's vehcile. Stephen E. Behrndt
