Complaint Comments:
Don handled this claim from the first appraisal to the last supplement. He first came out and wrote an original appraisal. We started repairs and called back for a supplement. Without any notice he then came out on the supplement and wrote what he felt was related prior damage. The supplement became a negative. He wrote for repairs he felt were not related to the loss, but related to the necessary repairs and deducted this from the insured’s settlement. I did not even know that he was doing the supplement. He never called me to let me know that he was out there. My agreement with State Farm is that the appraiser would call me to let me know he/or she is out there. So when I went out to the vehicle he left the supplement and the related damage appraisals on the windshield. It is hard for me to go over additional damage with him if I am not there to do it. So when I called Don to discuss this supplement he stated to me that it was self-explanatory and figures it out. So after reviewing he paperwork I called him again to come back out to go over it. He stated to me that I was harassing him and he would call the police if I called him again. So I called his manager Ron (610-358-8476) for some help. After talking to Ron he stated to me that I am asking the same questions over and over again and he doesn’t need to answer them twice. I stated to him that I don’t understand his company policies and need it to be written down and sent to me. He stated to me that he does not need to discuss and issues with me and he told me to have the policyholder call him. He also stated to me that it is not his responsibility for me to have to understand his position. I then stated what do I do next. He stated to me that I am drawing a fine line with harassment. I stated to him that this is the second time today that I am been accused of harassing State Farm employees. I told him that I feel that I am being singled out and mistreated. So then I called back for another supplement. Don refused to come out and stated to me that he would pay for a couple of additional r&i's required and that is it. He stated to me everything else has been addressed and will not go over it. So I called in another supplement and again he will not come out and stated to me that he is allowed to just handle it over the phone. So the last supplement was for hardware, clips and rivets. So he agreed to pay for these items without seeing if I really needed them. So I don’t understand why when I tell Don that I am going to need clips and rivets on the first inspection he tells me he needs to see which ones break first before he can pay for misc hardware. Please Help Me With This. I cannot run a business calling State Farm everyday for supplements on items that should be address on the original estimate. Please Help.
