Complaint Comments:
On March 27th Chuck Baroody was out to inspect the damages to Mr.Neff's car who had decided that he was going to use our shop for the repairs, Chuck was aware of this and listed us as the repair facility on the estimate that he prepared for Mr.Neff and printed a locked estimate of record at 12:52. At 12:57 chuck emailed Mr.neff and explained the estimate and if there would be any supplements that we would be in contact and get them resolved, at 1:07 chuck then followed up with an unsolicited email that reads "Mr.Neff, We did not discuss this when i was there, but we have a couple of shops that we deal with that are in a few miles from you. Here's the list, see if you like them. thank you" this is directly in violation of Chapter 146 the unfair trades practices act specifically 146.8 section D: The insurer shall give a copy of the appraisal to the claimant and may furnish to the claimant, upon his unsolicited request, the names of two or more conveniently located repair shops. Chuck Baroody is attempting to steer customers away from independent shops and get them to go to shops that his employer have a contract with, I am not sure if he is doing this on his own or is being instructed by his managers to do so, either way it is in direct violation of the unfair trades practices act and should be looked into.
