Complaint Comments:
The loss vehicle was damaged along the entire left side, including damage to the rear bumper cover which needed to be repaired and refinished. Mr. Pague inspected the vehicle on 6-12-06 and prepared an appraisal. The loss vehicle had unrelated prior damage to the top surface of the rear bumper cover. Mr. Pague deducted the cost to replace the rear cover from the rest of the appraisal, thereby reducing the amount that State Farm paid their insured by $683.52. State Farm followed their usual practice of inter-meshing the prior damage with the claim-related damage to such an extent as to obscure the fact that they are taking out more than the prior damage from the overall payment, and to confuse any attempt to sort them out from one another. In this instance State Farm not only failed to allow sufficient payment to repair the rear bumper cover, they also subtracted payment from the balance of the damage claim. This is the third complaint that I made concerning this issue
