Complaint Comments:
Ms. Hayes made an appointment to leave her vehicle for repairs on 11-2-06. While speaking with Ms. Hayes outside the shop, I noticed that Brad Panicelli had pulled up in front of the shop at the same time Ms. Hayes did. I asked Mr. Panicelli to allow me an hour to prepare my appraisal for the damage to Ms. Hayes' vehicle and then come back so we could go over the damages and appraisal together. He refused, and followed me into the office. He then told Ms. Hayes that I refused him access to her vehicle and refused to allow him to inspect it. I corrected him, saying that I merely asked for time to inspect the vehicle, and that he would be permitted to inspect the vehicle with me as we have always done in the past. He disregarded my statement, became loud, and again said to Ms. Hayes that I would not allow him to inspect her vehicle. He then told her to disregard what I was saying and to go outside with him. Ms. Hayes did so. Mr. Panicelli apparently inspected the vehicle at that time and gave a copy of his appraisal to Ms. Hayes. He did not leave a copy of his appraisal with the shop, nor did he discuss the appraisal at all with me. These are direct violations of the Appraisers Act. In addition, Mr. Panichelli does not have the right to fabricate falsehoods to our customer. He certainly did not act in a professional manner. Ms. Hayes was present both outside and in the office at the time of these violations and can attest to the accuracy of my complpaint.
