Complaint Comments:
Following inspection of damage sustained to the hood and windshield of my vehicle, Mr. Jim Manning prepared an estimate and left a message describing his repair estimate. He stated that he was unable to review his estimate with the collision repair facility representative. Upon review of his estimate, it was noted that Mr. Manning did not approve/allow for blending of the associated quarter panel. I was informed by other independent appraisers that the correct repair would included consideration for blending of the adjacent fender panel. When I spoke to Mr. Manning to address this matter, he informed me that it was his opinion that the fender did not have to be blended. He continued stating that blending of the fender panel was a ploy to increase the amount of the claim that Progressive would have to pay in an attempt to save the deductible amount. In a sense, Mr. Manning suggested that I was attempting to commit fraud! I informed Mr. Manning that I would not allow his company to devalue my vehicle and that I would authorize Iacona Collision Center, Inc. to perform the correct repair. I have since reimbursed Iacona Collision for the full cost of the repair (deductible and supplement amount) and am in the process of filing a formal consumer complaint with the PA Department of Insurance to notify The Department of the strong arm tactics employed by Progressive Insurance and its claim representatives.
