Complaint Comments:
Pennsylvania Department of Insurance: On August 8, 2008 our customer's vehicle was damaged in the rear bumper, tailgate and back panel by a driver insured with Allstate Insurance Company. Allstate contacted her to advised their insured was liable and requested to pay for the damages. Our customer advised Allstate her vehicle would be repaired at Crawford's Auto Center, which is close to her residence. Our customer then contacted our repair facility to make an appointment and explained her intentions to permit Allstate Insurance Company pay for the repairs to her vehicle. Our customer advised, Allstate Insurance Company provided her with a scheduled appointment at their drive-in claims center on August 11, 2008. At the drive-in center Allstate's staff appraiser Charles S. Milewski prepared an appraisal of damages for the amount of $1,360.57. Milewski then stated he understood by the claim file her vehicle is to be repaired at Crawford's Auto Center. Milewski proceeded to advise our customer that Crawfords Auto Center would charge her more than he had appraised and Allstate would not pay amounts above the appraisal. Milewski recommended our customer take her vehicle to 3D Auto Body for the repairs and Allstate would pay for the entire repairs. Our customer dropped her damaged off at our facility shortly after her appointment with the Allstate claims center. She complained about the way she was treated by Charles S. Milewski and advised that he tried to get her to change her repair facility from Crawford's to 3D Auto Body. Our consumer has requested we send this consumer complaint on her behalf and would appreciate a follow-up phone call from the Department of Insurance.
