Complaint Comments:
This complaint is the second one on behalf of the insured Daniel Martinez. On the first complaint State Farm refused to pay the $705.10 supplement for additional paint & materialswhich was noted on the first complaint. After countless phone calls from the consumer to his insurance company I received a check from State Farm in the amount of $472.05. This Fed Ex envelope had no supporting documentation( supplement). This was $275.35 less than my supplement. I called State Farm and spoke to Kim in claims, explained to her the problem and needed to see how they came up with this random amount. She said she would fax over the supplement. Upon receiving the faxed supplement I noticed that it was the original estimate. I called back a second time, this time I spoke to Melody I told her that I needed supporting documentation otherwise I said there could be a violation of the appraisers act there. I was put on hold and was transferred to Lynette who said she knew what I was looking for and would fax it over. About an hour later I received another fax but this time it was my original paint invoice. I still don't understand what is happening. I tried to handle this discrepancy without going to the State in the form of sending letters to not only the original appraiser but his supervisor Bob Brass and also a copy to Jim Johns at the Insurance commission. I have not heard a word from anyone. My only recourse is to file another formal complaint. If State Farm were just doing there job and write the supplement for the check amount this could probably be resolved. Our mutual customer knows that he is responsible for any differences and would also like to resolve this promptly. Thank you Mark C. Vettori
