Complaint Comments:
This complaint is forwarded to the D.O.I. with the request of Mr. Katseftis, to inform the Department of the financial burden and the unprofessional conduct Ameriprise and Mid Atlantic Appraisal both caused. Mr. Katseftis' 2009 Scion Tc was involved in an incident, he contacted his carrier and established a claim. The claims representative Shana Parker asked for him to have his vehicle taking to one of their affiliated facilities, when Mr. Katseftis informed her that he was going to use his shop of choice he was asked to get and forward to Ameriprise an estimate and photos of the damage. Mr. Katseftis along with his family operate their own business and from early morning to later dinner time they are busy catering to their patrons needs, and during this time he is limited to do any personal things. 4/6/10 Tuesday: We receive a telephone call from Shana Parker wanting to know why we did not forward the estimate & photos to her attention. I apologized to her for our delay and I completed and faxed the estimated damage report & emailed the photos. Later that day I spoke w/ Shana and was told that she will send out Mid Atlantic Appraisal to inspect the vehicle. 4/7/10 Wednesday: Mr. Katseftis brought the vehicle to our shop and got into a rental that afternoon after work. When I spoke with Mr. Katseftis I was told that Mr. Joe Feshera from Mid Atlantic Appraisal did call him the night before and wanted to inspect his vehicle. Mr. Katseftis told Mr. Feshera, due to their work schedule he would be dropping of the vehicle to GA Collision Center the next day. When I contacted Mr. Feshera, to find out when he would be visiting our facility I was told that he will not be coming out to inspect this vehicle and that he would turn back the assignment to Mid Atlantic, because we are known to call in a lot of supplements and he does not get paid to do them by this insurance company. 4/8/10 Thursday: I faxed over to both Mid Atlantic & Ameriprise another Damage Analysis Request and explained the situation Mr. Katseftis was in; due to Mr. Feshera decision to reject this assignment. 4/9/10 Friday: Andy Yates from 21st Century came out to our facility and appraised the damage vehicle. Afterwards we dismantled the vehicle and started the repair process. 4/12/10 Monday: We received via fax the estimated cost of repairs from 21st Century. 4/13/10 Tuesday: Shana called our shop and discussed with my (unauthorized) tech the status of the vehicle. Later the same day Kulp Car Rentals notified me about Mr. Katseftis' rental situation. We called and spoke with Shana and we were told that Mr. Katseftis decision to bring his drivable vehicle to our shop was not appropriate, and that this vehicle could have been seen on the street by Mr. Feshera when he initially called him, and also, she did not authorized the repairs to start until April 13th with the estimated repair completion date of April 29th. This conduct has cause Mr. Katseftis money out of pocket and now is forced to pay 6 days for his rental, just because an assignment was rejected by Ameriprise hired appraiser. Please review this complaint and if you need to, please contact Mr. Katseftis.
