Complaint Comments:
Vince Lopez came out to view Mr. Barons vehicle for additional damages and parts replacement. Vince Lopez refuse to pay for OEM parts to adjust their selected aftermarket vendor(Empire) who refuse to sell the their parts to our facility for their excuse unknown. Leaving the financial burden on their policy holder the consumer, Mr. Baron. Vince could not change the needed OEM because he said his company wont authorize him to do so. There was additional repairs that Vince Lopez would agree on, then he would take his pictures and run out to his vehicle, would come back and say he could not authorize that procedure or part. He would agree then change his decision after returning to the shop. He had told me that he was be "consulted" by his superior "Vanessa" to what to write on the estimate. Vanessa, was using his pictures to narrate his estimate. Isn't that not in compliance with the Appraisers Act? He is another continual license appraiser employed by Progressive that has admitted he has no experience in the repair process and Progressive employees are influenced not to write an Independent Appraisal. How is the Insurance Commission allowing licensing to be given to Appraiser's without the following competency and no enforcement on their actions? 1) Competency may be demonstrated by providing written documentation of one of the following: (i) A minimum of 6 months continuous experience within the previous 3 years at an occupation, such as body repair, that directly involves the estimation of physical damage to motor vehicles. (ii) Successful completion of education or training related to appraising motor vehicle physical damage taken within the previous 3 years. (2) The applicant shall provide additional information relating to experience, education or training to the Commissioner or a designee upon request. (b) An application for a license may be denied for any of the following: (1) The applicant has provided incorrect, misleading or incomplete answers to interrogatories on forms incidental to applying for a license.
