Department of Insurance: Please be advised the attached appraisal prepared by Erie Insurance Company's appraiser Charles T. Juliano #151384 contains false and misleading statements. Mr. Juliano states that as per the following notation " "DISCUSSED REPAIRS WITH SHOP-STEVE; A/P-SHOP; DISCUSSED REPAIRS WITH OWNER". This is an outright false statement. Mr. Juliano never discussed the appraisal with the consumer's repair representative at any time. Crawford's Auto Center, Inc. has a standing policy that we do not arrive at agreed prices prior to the start of repairs and especially by telephone conversation. I never spoke with this appraiser regarding the repairs to my customer's damaged vehicle. Mr. Juliano wrote on his appraisal that the repairs will take only three days and allowed three days worth of rental. This is inaccurate information and has misguided the vehicle owner into believing our company can repair his vehicle in three days. His A/P statement is telling our customer that Crawford's has accepted the written dollar amount on the appraisal for repairs, which is untrue. This is a violation of the Pa. Motors Physical Damage Appraisers Act and it's administrative code. Please investigate the attached complaint and file the necessary violations against the insurance company and their appraiser for noncompliance of the act and regulation.
