Pa. Department of Insurance: Our customer was involved in an automobile accident on 3/17/15. We were contacted on 3/18/15 by a Mr. Ralph Saletto from Integrity Damage Appraisals. Mr. Saletto advised he had received an assignment to inspect the damaged to our customer's vehicle by USAA Insurance Company. Mr. Saletto made an appointment and arrived at our facility on 3/19/18. Mr. Saletto signed in to our facility at 10:30am. We permitted Saletto to drive around to our storage area to inspect the vehicle. Mr. Saletto returned to our front office and signed out at 10:55am. On Friday 3/20/15 we received a copy of Mr. Saletta's appraisal via fax machine at 09:00. When we reviewed the appraisal it was noted that several necessary parts and procedures were not included in the appraisal and we started the supplemental process explained on the copy of Saletto's appraisal. Our office realized at this time that the appraisal was identified as an SCA Appraisal Company appraisal and not from Integrity Damage Appraisal service. This caused a problem due to SCA Appraisal Company is an appraisal company that is not permitted to inspect vehicles at Crawford's Auto Center. We contacted Mr. Saletto and advised him that additional items were needed for repairs and it was his responsibility to re-inspect the vehicle. Mr. Saletto explained that he was subcontracted by SCA Appraisal Company to inspect the vehicle for USAA Insurance Company. Saletto explained we had to contact SCA Appraisal Service for our additional items request because he could not re-inspect without authorization from SCA Appraisal Service. This unprofessional handling of an appraisal is a violation of the Pa. Motors Physical Damage Appraiser Act and it's corresponding Regulations. Saletto arrived at our facility under the false identity of Integrity Damage Appraisals. Mr. Saletto did not leave a copy of his appraisal as per the guidelines of MVPDAA and when he did fax his copy his appraisal was based on photos taken of the damages at Crawford's another violation of the Act. When requested to re-inspect Mr. Saletto declined the additional items request based on instructions he received through SCA Appraisal Company when he accepted the assignment. If Crawford's had known at the time of initial inspection that Mr. Saletto represented SCA Appraisal Company and not U.S.A.A. he would have been permitted to inspect the loss.' PLEASE INVESTIGATE THE MVPDAA VIOLATIONS OF INTEGRITY DAMAGE APPRAISALS - SCA APPRAISAL COMPANY AND U.S.A.A.INSURANCE COMPANY.
