Complaint Comments:
Liberty Mutual is underpaying labor rates per surveys of area rates, they will negotiate rates for their insureds but have been told they cannot negotiate for the claimants. The appraisers are not being given the oppertunity to write an independent appraisal, and for an amount for which it may be reasonably expected the damage can be satisfactorily repaired. In not paying reasonable rates they in my opinion are attempting to steer claimants to one of their shops they have a contract with in order to save money. The appraiser said they have shops that will do it for these rates so we do not have to negotiate on behalf of claimants. This is a direct violation of the appraisers act and shows prejudice against, or favoritism toward, any party involved in order to make fair and impartial appraisals.
