Complaint Comments:
On 5/23,Mr.Seidman brought his car to our shop in an undrivable condiiton. His tire was rubbing against the fender. The adjuster, Derek Jones called and requested we remove the bumper before he can send out an appraiser. Our policy requires an estimate before we can proceed with teardown. We are not a Progressive shop and we work with all insurance companies in expediting repairs to help minimize rental costs. But we can't put one company ahead of another. i spoke to Mr Seidman on 5/25.He told me Derek told his wife he is going to stop the rental since we refused to work on his car. i also spoke to Derek. He said it was Progressive's policy to inspect a car after teardown.He was going to request our customer to use his own company since we were unable to meet his demands.Progressive needs to send out an appraiser. It must also pay for car rental until repairs are completed. It must understand the repair process. Shops can't stop working on other cars just to satisfy Progressive's policy.THIS UNFAIR PRACTICE MUST STOP.
