Complaint Comments:
This complaint is file on behalf of the consumer, on Monday September 24th 2007 Mr. Young was involved in an accident in the City of Philadelphia, while driving between 9th & 10th on Christian Street he made a legal left turn onto 800 block of Hutchinson St. the other person was double parked on the corner of the opposite side of Christian St. they reversed into the intersection and backed into his drivers side front at full speed causing the accident, Philadelphia Police Dept responded. Mr. Young notified his insurance company (State Farm) and also the other carrier and establishes a claim against American Independent Insurance Co. On 10/19/2007 they send out an independent appraisal firm, Longacre Appraisal and appraised the damaged vehicle in the amount of $1389.84. When A.I.I. Co. found out that Mr. Young obtains an attorney for his personal injury they denied the property claim after several weeks of waiting. Mr. Young then made arrangement for his company, State Farm to appraise his damaged vehicle, on January 10, 2008 Mr. Ken D'Annibale came to the shop for the appraisal. Mr. Young explained to Mr. Ken D'Annibale that his vehicle was inspected by the other insurance company's appraiser and showed him the writing estimate. Mr. D'Annibale explained that if he reviewed that estimate it would cause him to be prejudice on his decision making of completing his own estimate. After some considerable time Mr. D'Annibale completed his estimate and went over the damages with Mr. Young, he explained that on his estimate the damages come out to be $1,592.36 less the $500.00 deductible, and also he estimated the prior damages (almost 4 months later from the accident) and the amount come out to be $1,149.92, that left Mr. Young a minus amount of $-57.56 for repairing his damaged vehicle. WOW!'' How could one PA State licensed appraiser four months ago, could have missed all that prier damages, but not our good neighborhood State Farm appraiser, he did not miss a thing. Please review this matter on behalf of the consumer. Thank you.
