Insurance co and Appraiser did in fact take betterment on this claim on a front bumper. This is after taking/using an aftermarket part on the appraisal. They basically got two (2) betterment's, one for the use of aftermarket parts and the second a 50% betterment for prior damage (rust). This is forcing the consumer and claimant to pay out of pocket expense for an accident that occurred while their vehicle was parked. Also the consumer must now seek alternative legal action to be reimbursed for their loss. The appraiser,Jack Walton was ask about this and his reply was that he had Insurance Co. guidelines to follow, basically his admission that he did not write a "independent" appraisal that is described in Act 367 itself. Infinity Insurance Co. said this is something they do all the time (take betterment and aftermarket part). Their actions have been unprofessional and have caused undue monetary stress to the consumer.
