Complaint Comments:
Pennsylvania Department of Insurance: Our customer's 2009 Pontiac Vibe sustained serious damage to its rear bumper assembly and rear body panels as a result of an accident on 7/12/08. Their insurance company State Farm Insurance Company contacted our facility on 7-14-08 to advise they would like to inspect the damages on 7/15/08. State Farm did not designate a particular time for an appointment. On 7-15-08 Mr. James Guthrie arrived by our facility to inspect said damages without a designated appointment. Mr. Guthrie came into our front room with a State Farm trainee. Mr. Guthrie signed in our facility at 12:45 PM. We advised Mr. Guthrie we are not a training facility, only one appraiser would be able inspect the claim and we would only discuss or negotiate with one individual. Mr. Guthrie advised that he would not be negotiating anything with anybody. We escorted Mr. Guthrie to the vehicle and he proceeded to write his appraisal. The State Farm trainee waited in our front room while Mr. Guthrie inspected the vehicle. Mr. Guthrie requested our staff to remove the rear bumper cover for his inspection. We advised Mr. Guthrie although we may have scheduled this type procedure with a designated appointment we could not accommodate his request at that time.' Mr. Guthrie completed his assignment then signed out of our facility at 2:05PM without reviewing or negotiating his appraisal. Mr. Guthrie refused to identify his Pa. State Appraiser's License on the appraisal as per requirements of the ACT.' Please investigate and enforce the state's regulatory guidelines of the state law against Mr. Guthrie's and his unprofessional behavior and non-compliance of the MVPDA. Thank You, Stephen Behrndt
