Complaint Comments:
This document contains a complaint against Nationwide Ins Co. This complaint is in regards to payment for paint & material. The estimate provided by Nationwide capped its paint & material cost at $400.00 when speaking to the appraiser his response was that it's not a cap it's a threshold. When asking what the difference is between the two the appraiser said that the threshold means that it can be negotiated. When I presented the invoices to him for the difference between what they paid and my actual cost he said he could not pay them. Again I asked him then what is the difference between a cap & a threshold. His response was that a threshold means that it is not a firm price. By not paying with the documents provided by the repair facility this makes it a cap not a threshold. The Insurance industry demands that repair facilities' run there businesses formally, professionally & accurately, and rightfully so. As an industry this is happening, Our refinishing systems have provided us with real time accurate data. We can now justify these price increases that before were not available. Yet with all this documentation Nationwide, in this case can not & will not give me an explanation on why they will not pay the difference.
