Complaint Comments:
This is a third party loss being handled by the first party carrier. Initial call to Insurance Company by the customer resulted in the Insurance Company trying to steer the owner to use "their" shops when we are located within the same address block as the owner and have repaired vehicles for them before. Initial appraisal listed partial refinish times on repaired panels per "Insurance Company guidelines." The Insurance Company again tried to steer the vehicle out of the shop when the issue of mechanical rates was discussed. After consultation with a supervisor, the mechanical rate of the shop was agreed upon. Betterment was taken off the tire replacement price. Manipulation of the database was rampant through out the estimate. Most items were covered in the supplement but some items are still unresolved. The disputed items should have been covered in the initial estimate, not in the supplement and not after consultation with a supervisor.
