Please be advised that Shelby Insurance Company is in violation of the PA Motor Vehicle Physical Damage Appraisers Act as they will not allow their appraiser to leave a copy of the estimate with the shop of the consumers' choice. Shelby Insurance Company has assigned 2 different independent appraisal firms to write the appraisal on our consumer's vehicle however since each appraiser was unable to leave a copy of his appraisal according to Shelby's guidelines and has had to refuse this assignment. Originally Advanced Appraisal was assigned this file but they refused as they could not comply with the guidelines and then it was assigned to SCA Appraisal who has assigned 3 appraisers to date, 1. Stacey Whartnaby called on 6/24/05, 2. Glen Troxel called on 6/28/05 and came out on 6/30/05, 3. Dave Aureback is scheduled to come out on 7/7/05. The reason our consumer's vehicle has not started the repair process is due to Shelby Insurance Company's guidelines and their direct conflict with the PA Motor Vehicle Physical Damage Appraisers Act, please see the attached copy of Shelby's guidelines. These independent appraisers are refusing the claim once they are advised that they will need to leave a copy of their estimate after inspection of the vehicle in accordance with the Appraisers Act. Shelby Insurance Company has demanded our consumer move her vehicle to another repair shop and has also threaten to not pay rental coverage to our consumer. This is anti-consumer behavior and does not follow the guidelines set up by the Commonwealth to protect the citizens of our State.
