Complaint Comments:
Department of Insurance: Our customer's vehicle sustained comprehensive damage - Progressive inspected and wrote for an aftermarket bumper and grille. We explained the aftermarket parts to our customer and she advised us if this is what her company was paying for, to install them on her vehicle. We explained we could not warrant the parts and she understood. A week after she picked up her vehicle she was back with the grille falling out of her bumper. We explained we would contact Progressive for the proper parts.Progressive appraiser Steve Teague inspected the A/M parts and agreed they needed to be replaced however he would only pay the difference between the OEM and the AM parts and advised we would have to contact the vendor for reimbursement and refinishing cost. Progressive's responsibility is to pay for the full cost of repairs and replacement parts. If they demand parts that do not fit the vehicle it is their responsibility to pay the cost to replace those parts at full price and service. Progressive Insurance Company is in violation of the state's regulation that permits insurance companies to utilize aftermarket parts.''
